Acts Chapter 1:
1:1 Former account I made O, Theophilus of all that Jesus began both to do and teach.
1:2 Jesus through the Holy Spirit gave commandments to the apostles that he had chosen.
1:3 After his suffering on the cross, he remained on earth for 40 days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God
1:4 Jesus was assembled with them and commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the Promise of the Father “which you have heard from Me.”
1:5 Told the disciples that John baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
1:6 – 1:7 Asked him if he will restore the kingdom of Israel and told them that only the Father knows what he has put in his own authority
1:8 Tells his followers they will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon them and shall be witnesses to his presence in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the entire world.
1:9 – 1:11 After speaking these things, taken up into the heavens and a cloud received him and disappeared. While looking at this, two men stood by them in white apparel. They told him that this same Jesus will come back in the same manner.
1:12 Returned to Jerusalem from the mount called
